Hypervisible
Proposal for a billboard and exhibition space in rural lands

Both criticising and complying to the need of a constant hyper visibility – a fundamental characteristic of our times – we focus on the role of bodily presence. The most effective billboard is the self phone - omnipresent in everyone’s pocket, offers a platform free of charge; we propose to bring the sign, the billboard, the screen back to its original scale in the built environment. Spatially impacting distance and proximity.
A series of standard pieces are assembled in a device which stands in-between a space and a screen, a billboard and a casing, a face and a vitrine becoming a stage for a multitude of scenes to take place. In its smallest form it is a huge sign, an announcement. In its fullest execution, a frame that is continuously adaptable. Together with a plan to assembly the pieces, we include an atlas of faces that this device could use to adapt to different styles of exhibition set up, to different events and activities. What differs an exhibition from a concert or cinema is a particular fabric, a specific cutting pattern. The device itself becoming part of the performance.
