Skin on Skin

This work is a systematic, constant, obsessive and detailed investigation of ordinary qualities of the human-made environment. The fil rouge binding all images together draws upon a personal attitude to magnify the incoherence of daily experiences rather than a will to impose aesthetic canons onto them.
During this daily documentation many of the encountered conditions present layered scenes in which contrasting events, elements and identities coexist. The photos I present oscillate on the verge between seduction and discomfort: in them, a stubborn, forced coexistence keeps the elements together. In some cases, they fiteach other, in others not at all. In any case, they just can’t run away. Even if the wind blows, they are tied into place.
I wish to freeze their temporariness and the hyper delicate balance between them in the act of stopping by and framing it in a span of less than five second on average, which is the total time of existence for some of them - sometimes.
